BetterLetter has been selected for multiple sites as part of the Surrey Heartlands ICB Test Bed Programme, a pioneering initiative aimed at enhancing access, administrative capacity, and patient outcomes through digital innovation. This program, dedicated to transforming primary care services, provides £1.3 million in funding for innovative projects designed to improve efficiency, collaboration, and overall care quality.
BetterLetter is uniquely suited for this initiative, leveraging our AI-driven platform to semi-automate clinical letter processing. Our solution significantly accelerates the speed at which documents are coded and filed, more than doubling existing efficiencies, and frees time and resources within practice administration teams. Additionally, BetterLetter facilitates seamless hub-and-spoke operations among Primary Care Networks (PCNs) and federations by standardising coding practices and workflows, thereby ensuring consistency, accuracy, and efficiency across multiple practices.
The team at BetterLetter attended Market Engagement Events in Cobham in January 2025 and met with GP practices, PCNs, and federations to showcase our product. Following these interactions, we worked with multiple practice and federation teams in preparing bids, with several projects already confirmed as successful. This marks a significant achievement for our company, and the selected projects are set to go live in June 2025.
Each test bed will operate over a 12-month period starting in June, focusing on revolutionising clinical coding practices. By boosting efficiency and accuracy in document processing, the programme aims to directly enhance patient care experiences and outcomes while also improving workplace wellbeing for administrative staff.
